Hello Sunset High School Lacrosse Family,
Registration for our 2021 Lacrosse Season is now open — finally!
If you intend to play this season, please start your registration process by March 1st. There will be no season fee required for this pre-registration step. Once the season schedule is confirmed and we know how many players we have, we will send a prorated invoice that reflects the season length.
While details are not entirely solidified, we are going to move forward with our season registration. We continue to see positive signs pointing to our Return to Play. From the NFHS ruling dropping tiered risk categories, to improving COVID risk levels for our county, and most recently, Gov Brown’s decision to allow contact sports!!!!
We will be following OSAA Season 3 Spring Dates (April 5 – May 23). As we learn more about the season from OHSLA and OGLA, we will provide updates. We don’t expect there to be travel-based events, such as the HS Spring Break trip or the SALI tournament in Sisters. We also don’t expect those participating in Fall sports to join in Lacrosse activities until their season is over.
We are also opening registration early to ensure we can gather up Physicals and Baseline Concussion tests prior to the season. If you are a Freshman or don’t have a current Physical and Baseline test taken after June 1st 2019, please follow the instructions during registration. If you have any questions, please contact our Registrar Michelle Carver firstname.lastname@example.org.
All players are also required to have a current USLAX membership ($30). Check that your current membership (if you have one) is valid through June 5. You can check on USLAX site first, or when you attempt to register and it verifies USLAX, you will be prohibited from proceeding and need to link to USLAX to renew if not valid through June 5. USLAX is non-refundable so if you want to wait to see how the next few weeks unfold; you are welcome to.
Please be assured that our priority will be safety first! In the coming weeks we will be sharing our Return to Play policies and procedures. We will be following OGLA, OHSLA, OSAA and BSD guidelines.
We will be holding a Virtual Parent Night in early March so please keep a lookout for that invitation.
On behalf of the Board, I would like to share how excited we are to get our kids back to playing lacrosse in 2021. Ohana!
