Please see Youth lacrosse notes below for all THPRD YOUTH requirements.
For the 2010 season ONLY...THPRD will NOT be requiring players residing outside of the Tualatin Hills Park and Recreation District boundaries to purchase an out of district assessment.
During registration, players will still be asked for their THPRD #. This is because we are required to provide this information to THPRD. Therefore, for all THPRD In district players, we suggest you know your THPRD # prior to starting registration. For all Out of District THPRD players, you may enter "Out of Dist" in this field.
The decision not to require the out of district assessment for the first year is to help the clubs establish programs, registration processes, and affiliated status with the Park District. The affiliation of the High School Lacrosse clubs is a unique situation for both parties, the clubs transitioning from a School sponsored sport to an affiliated sport and THPRD establishing a new structure for an affiliate to meet the unique needs.
If players families have already purchased an out of district assessment, and they will not be using any other THPRD services or participating in any other affiliated sports, they may request a refund.

TO PARTICIPATE IN LACROSSE
If you are an out of district participant with a THPRD ID, you can renew or update your son/daughter's status on line at the THPRD website. Even if they have a number from many years ago you can renew on line. You should renew and select the Spring 2010 session when you are on line.
If you are out of district and have NEVER initiated a THPRD ID you'll have to go into a THPRD facility (such as Cedar Hills Rec Center, Sunset Pool, or the main THPRD on Walker Rd) to activate the process. Again you'll select Spring 2010 as your active quarter.
In either case, you can expect to pay only one quarter of fees in order to participate in lacrosse. Our season will span beyond one THPRD 90 day term but they are treating lacrosse just like soccer, one fee for one season of play. We have been told that the THPRD quarterly fee for Spring 2010 will be $67. Their website currently lists $54 as the fee, however this is for fall and winter quarters.

Sunset Lacrosse parents and players,
In response to recent articles and information that has been floating around I wanted to give you some information prior to our meetings on Nov 3/4. The article in the student paper this week does not have complete/correct information.
I would like to let you know that Sunset Lacrosse is alive and well. There will be some changes for the 2010 Season but we are not leaving campus. BSD has made some internal changes. THPRD has stepped in to help cover the immediate need. THPRD through an IGA with the school district, will work with each school to coordinate field time. Our time that we have had in the past should be the same.
Sunset Lacrosse has been on the cutting edge of high school lacrosse development within the State of Oregon since the very beginning - more than 11 years ago. Our relationship with the administration and more importantly with the Athletic Department at Sunset is very strong and we are supported.
We look forward to a successful 2010 campaign for both our boys and girls program. We understand there will be questions and concerns. Trust that the board has the interest of players, parents and the lacrosse community as a whole in their minds and is doing work to ensure continuity in the future.
